SHAKYAMUNI BUDDHA (ref..SB1)  Click Here    £ 7.20   Previously £12.00 This statue represents the historical Buddha who is known in buddism as Buddha Shakyamuni. He is shown at the moment of enlightenment, when he called on the spirit of the earth as witness to his achievement. The Buddha is seated on a lotus holding an alms bowl in his left hand and with his right hand in the bhumi sparsha or 'earth touching' position. Height approx 4.5 inches

MEDICINE BUDDHA (RES1)  Click Here    £ 7.20   Previously £12.00 According to legend, Buddha Shakyamuni transformed himself into a deep blue Buddha who radiated healing rays of light and taught a vast gathering of people and gods the science of medicine. The Medicine Buddha has long been revered as the patron of medicine and healing and as the archetype deity of all physicians. He is shown here with his left hand in the meditation mudra, resting in his lap and holding a begging bowl filled with medicinal nectar and fruit. His right hand is in the position to give blesssings and holds a stem of the medicinal herb, myrobalan. Height approx 10.7 cms (4.5 ins).

GREEN TARA (GREENRES1)  Click Here    £ 7.20   Previously £12.00 Green Tara is associated with the air element. She embodies female wisdom and has many peaceful and wrathful aspects. She is known as the "Swift Saviouress" due to her readiness to protect us from negative forces and help us avoid negative karma. Meditation on Green Tara is thought to bring quick thinking, spontaneity and wisdom in our actions, generosity, magical perfection and fearlessness. Her short mantra is OM TARE TUTARE TURE SVAHA. The statue shows her sitting on a lotus but with her right foot extended in readiness for speedy action. Her right hand is extended downwards in the position which grants accomplishment. Her left hand is shown with thumb and ring finger touching - the gesture for granting protection and freeing from fear. She has utpala lotus flowers blooming at her shoulders. Height 14.5cm (5.5 ins)

WHITE TARA (WHITERES)     £ 7.20   Previously £12.00 In Tibetan mythology, both White Tara and Green Tara were born of Chenrezig's tears of compassion. Tara is thought to have insisted that she remains in female form whilst functioning as a bodhisatva, assisting all sentient beings in overcoming difficulties on their road to enlightenment. The White Tara practice is understood to increase longevity. Height approx 5.5 inches

CHENREZIG (CHENRES1)  Click Here    £ 7.20   Previously £12.00 Chenrezig is the Bodhisattva of infinite loving kindness and compassion. Apart from the historical Buddha, he is probably the most revered of all Buddhist figures. He is known as Avalokiteshvara in India, Kuan-yin in China and Kannon in Japan. As Chenrezig, he is the patron Bodhisattva of Tibet. He is often depicted with multiple arms and heads symbolising his ability to work simultaneously with myriad beings. The mantra associated with Chenrezig is OM MANI PEME HUNG. The Dalai Lama and the Karmapa are considered to be emanations of Chenrezig. This statue shows Chenrezig with four arms. Two arms are joined in prayer holding the wish-fulfilling gem. The other left hand holds a lotus flower whilst a crystal mala (rosary) is held in his other right hand. An antelope skin is draped over his shoulder; the softness of this represents his complete freedom from violence. Height 14.7 cm (5.75 ins)

MANJUSHRI (MANRES1)  Click Here    £ 7.20   Previously £12.00 Manjushri is the embodiment of wisdom. He is the patron of astrology and all esoteric sciences and is considered to be an Eastern version of Mercury. In this statue he is shown holding a sword which cuts through delusion and ignorance. His left hand holds the stem of a lotus which blossoms bearing the holy text Prajnaparamita, meaning 'Perfection of Wisdom' symbolising that Manjushri holds the wisdom of the universe. The flaming sword in his right hand shows that he uses this wisdom to cut through the delusions and karmic bondages of the mind. His left hand is in the position of delivering teaching. Manjushri is invoked to confer blessings such a sharp intellect and memory as well as profound wisdom. His most popular mantra is OM AH RA PA TZA NA DHI.

DZAMBHALA   Click Here    £ 8.00   Previously £14.00 Dzambhala is the bodhisattva of spiritual and material wealth. The statue shows him pot-bellied and wearing rich clothes and ornaments. In his right hand he carries a lemon whilst his left hand holds a mongoose with jewels flowing from its mouth. Height 6 inches

MILAREPA (MILARES1)  Click Here    £ 7.20   SOLD OUT! Milarepa is probably the most well known of all Tibetan saints. He is known to have lived from 1040 to 1123. He was an adept at black magic but later rejected this and became a disciple of Marpa and eventually emerged as one of the most famous teachers of the Kagyu tradition. A poet and ascetic, he used to wear only cotton cloth during the bitterly cold Tibetan winters. He is also known to have lived on nothing but nettles which eventually turned his body green. This statue shows him seated on a gazelle skin with his right hand raised to his ear as if he is listening to the echoes of nature. He holds a begging bowl in his left hand. Height approx 10.7 cms (4 ins)

GURU RINPOCHE (Ref:RESGURU)  Click Here    £ 13.20   Previously £22.00 Guru Rinpoche is the historical figure and tantric yogi who fully established Buddhism in Tibet - it is still possible to visit the caves where he once lived and meditated.
