ROKPA FAIR TRADE PURPLE ZAFU  Click Here    £ 22.00   These cushions are made for us in Nepal by the Rokpa Women's Workshop. They are filled with natural cotton fibres. Standard size zafu Colour: Purple Since 1996 Rokpa have been offering apprenticeships for women. They are taught to design and sew clothes as well as other useful articles, which they will later sell. Throughout these courses the women are financially supported by ROKPA Women have a lower social status in Nepal, and are often dependent and repressed. Since they are married at a very early age and have children, they are therefore excluded from educational opportunities. They are often abandoned by their husbands, having given birth to a large number of children. In this situation they are rarely able to support themselves and their children. It is with great pleasure that we are able to support the work of Rokpa through the purchase of these cushions.
