Nyoshul Khenpo Rinpoche was a most eminent Tibetan meditation master and master of the practice of the Dzogchen (the Great Perfection) path of Tibetan Buddhism. Together with his main disciple, Lama Ram Das, he presents an inspiring set of teachings together with a collection of spontaneous vajra songs of wisdom. The writing is warm, clear and direct:
"The true meaning of Dzogchen is in your own nature, not something you need to find outside. Truth is not really found in books, it is only described in books. ... Buddha nature , the essence of awakened enlightenment itself, is present in everyone. Its essence is forever pure, unalloyed, and flawless. ... Those who recognise their true nature are enlightened; those who ignore or overlook it are deluded. There is no way to enlightenment other than by recognising buddha-nature and achieving stability in that, which implies authentically identifying it within one's own stream of being, and training in that incisive recognition through simply sustaining its continuity, without alteration or fabrication."
A remarkable book.
